Re: [DiRT] O/D fixed! WOO-HOO!!
Do you mean the 2-3 bind up? I can see where you might be going but,
seeing as how dex used to be spec for the older 727`s and this unit
being pretty much a 727 with an OD unit (i.e., hydraulicly very similar)
I don`t see any problems, like i said I`ve been running it in my older
727`ed truck for several years now with no ill effects. My understanding
concerning dex in a RE unit was the PCM had a hard time modulating shift
timing due to the different friction characteristics of the dex, we
would get Chrysler powered Eclipse`s with the famous A604 (used to work
for Mitsu) at the shop that had trans services using dex, those things
did`ny know what to do,lol. They`d flare/bang/flare all day long but
I`ve never seen one actaully come apart due to dex, we`d simply flush
the unit with Mitsu SP3 (very similar to ATF 3/4) and all would be well.
Thanx for the heads up tho, it`s something I`ve never considered and now
I have something new to worry about, lol.
